Ziel des Projekts ist der Aufbau eines generativen KI-Modells zur Musikkomposition, das ausschließlich mit lizenzierten und mit Einwilligung der Rechteinhaber:innen bereitgestellten Daten trainiert wird. Damit soll sichergestellt werden, dass urheberrechtliche und ethische Standards eingehalten werden.
Das Modell wird in die bestehende Beat Shaper-Plattform integriert, die Musikproduzent:innen beim kreativen Arbeiten unterstützt. Zusätzlich wird ein Plugin entwickelt, mit dem das System auch direkt in Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) wie Ableton Live einsetzbar ist. Das Training des Modells erfolgt auf dem Vienna Scientific Cluster (VSC), einem der leistungsstärksten Forschungssupercomputer Europas.
Beat Shaper leistet damit einen Beitrag zur Entwicklung transparenter und rechtssicherer KI-Lösungen in der Musiktechnologie – mit dem Ziel, kreative Prozesse zu erleichtern, ohne geistiges Eigentum zu gefährden.

Beat Shaper is developing an AI-based music system that is ethically responsible, technologically innovative, and can be seamlessly integrated into existing music production workflows.
The goal of the project is to build a generative AI model for music composition that is trained exclusively on data that has been licensed and provided with the explicit consent of rights holders. This ensures compliance with copyright and ethical standards.
The model will be integrated into the existing Beat Shaper platform, which supports music producers in their creative work. In addition, a plugin will be developed that enables use of the system directly within Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) such as Ableton Live. The model will be trained on the Vienna Scientific Cluster (VSC), one of Europe’s most powerful supercomputers.
With this project, Beat Shaper contributes to the development of transparent and legally compliant AI solutions in music technology – aiming to support creative processes without compromising intellectual property.
