Im Rahmen dieses Förderprojekts wird ein KI-gestützter Assistent entwickelt, der Unternehmen dabei unterstützt, ihre KI-Anwendungen gemäß dem EU AI Act zu bewerten, zu dokumentieren und zu steuern. Der Assistent ist zentraler Bestandteil der Compliance Plattform von PaiperOne, die Unternehmen eine umfassende Lösung für AI-Governance bietet.
Der KI-Assistent führt als intelligenter Begleiter durch die spezifischen Anforderungen des EU AI Acts und anderen relevanten Vorgaben. Nutzer:innen können in natürlicher Sprache mit dem System interagieren, um komplexe Aufgabenstellungen zu diskutieren, Compliance-Checks durchzuführen und Unterstützung bei der Risikobewertung ihrer KI-Systeme zu erhalten. Der Assistent bezieht sich dabei jeweils auf die aktuelle Gesetzgebung sowie Best Practices im Bereich KI-Ethik und -Recht.
Ziel des KI-Assistenten ist es, vor allem kleinen und mittleren Unternehmen (KMU) den Zugang zu einer rechtskonformen, verantwortungsvollen und nachhaltigen Nutzung von Künstlicher Intelligenz zu erleichtern. Somit soll es gelingen, den Anforderungen der Vorgaben rund um KI gerecht zu werden und nur in wenigen komplexen Fällen externe, juristische oder technische Experten:innen einbinden zu müssen. 

„Paiper“ unterstützt folgende Kernfunktionen:

• Automatisierte Beantwortung von Fragen zum EU AI Act in klar verständlicher Sprache
• Anleitung zur Risikoklassifikation von KI-Anwendungen, gemäß gesetzlicher Vorgaben
• Generierung und Pflege konformer Dokumentation, z. B. Code of Conduct, Risikoberichte, Impact Assessments, technische Dossiers
• Begleitung von KI-Projekten über den gesamten Lebenszyklus, inkl. Anpassung an den Use-Case, Monitoring und Reporting sowie Nachweis zu KI-Kompetenzen der beteiligten Personen

Mit der Entwicklung des KI-Assistenten leistet das Projekt einen wichtigen Beitrag zur operationalisierbaren Umsetzung des EU AI Acts im Unternehmensalltag. Es ermöglicht eine Skalierung der organisatorischen und technischen Compliance Maßnahmen und fördert zugleich einen verantwortungsvollen Umgang mit Künstlicher Intelligenz.

Development of "Paiper", the AI-powered assistant to support companies in EU AI Act compliance
As part of this funding project, an AI-supported assistant is being developed to help companies evaluate, document and control their AI applications in accordance with the EU AI Act. The assistant is a central component of PaiperOne's compliance platform, which provides companies with a comprehensive solution for AI governance.
As an intelligent companion, the AI assistant guides you through the specific requirements of the EU AI Act and other relevant requirements. Users can interact with the system in natural language to discuss complex tasks, perform compliance checks, and receive support in assessing the risk of their AI systems. The assistant refers to current legislation as well as best practices in the field of AI ethics and law.
The aim of the AI assistant is to make it easier for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in particular to access legally compliant, responsible and sustainable use of artificial intelligence. This should make it possible to meet the requirements of the requirements around AI and only have to involve external, legal or technical experts in a few complex cases. 
"Paiper" supports the following core functions:
●    Automated answers to questions about the EU AI Act in clearly understandable language

●    Guidance on the risk classification of AI applications, in accordance with legal requirements

●    Generation and maintenance of compliant documentation, e.g. Code of Conduct, risk reports, impact assessments, technical documentation

●    Support of AI projects over the entire life cycle, including adaptation to the use case, monitoring and reporting as well as proof of AI competencies of the people involved
With the development of the AI assistant, the project is making an important contribution to the operationalizable implementation of the EU AI Act in everyday business. It enables the scaling of organizational and technical compliance measures and at the same time promotes a responsible use of artificial intelligence.
