3D Technology Boosts Biotech Research
aws Seedfinancing | Deep Tech | 2026 | Lower Austria
print4biotech develops digital and 3D-printed technologies for bioprocesses. With support from aws Seedfinancing – Deep Tech, the transfer of biotechnological processes from the lab to industrial production is made faster and involves less development risk.
What does the company do?
print4biotech develops digital twins, AI-based design tools, and 3D-printed bioreactor components for the biotechnology sector. Its core technology, pDS, realistically represents production conditions of
large-scale bioreactors already at lab scale, improving the transferability of lab results to industrial manufacturing.
What is the funded project about?
The aws funding supports product validation, technology development, and market entry. It also enables the expansion of the company’s product portfolio for international markets.
What impact will the project have?
The technology shortens development timelines and reduces failure in biotechnological production processes. Companies become able to develop new active ingredients, industrial bioprocesses, and other biotechnology applications more quickly and cost-effectively. By simulating industrial production conditions, the technology reduces the risk of later scale-up challenges. At the same time, material, energy and source material usage are reduced. The project thus helps establish more sustainable innovation processes and quicker availability of new biotechnological solutions.
“We are building a bridge from lab-developed idea to industrial application. aws funding has been a key tool in making this possible.”
Manfred Satzer, co-founder and managing director
